Rotary evaporators are essential laboratory equipment for process of evaporation, concentration, drying, separation, and solvent recovery.  They are are mainly used for continuous distillation of large amounts of volatile solvents by reducing the pressure to lower the solvent boiling point, rotating the sample to increase the effective surface area and heating the solution in the bath.
