What's Peristaltic Aseptic Filling

Aseptic filling is a type of filling process used in the pharmaceutical industry to fill liquids into containers in a way that maintains the sterility and purity of the product. This process is called "aseptic" because it is designed to prevent contamination of the product by microorganisms or other foreign substances.

Peristaltic aseptic filling is a method of filling pharmaceutical products using peristaltic pumps, which are pumps that use a series of tubes or hoses to move fluids. This method is used in the pharmaceutical industry to ensure that the products being filled are free from contamination and meet strict quality and safety standards, such as intravenous solutions, injectable medications, and other sterile fluids. It is a reliable and efficient method for filling containers with sterile fluids, ensuring that the finished product is of high quality and free of contaminants.

One of the main advantages of peristaltic aseptic filling is that it allows for the filling of a wide range of liquids, including those that are sensitive to heat or light. It is also a relatively simple and efficient process that can be easily automated, which makes it well-suited for use in the pharmaceutical industry.   To use peristaltic aseptic filling in the pharmaceutical industry, the following guidelines should be followed:

  • Cleanliness: The equipment and workspace should be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized to prevent contamination.
  • Aseptic techniques: Aseptic techniques, such as wearing gloves and gowns, should be used to prevent contamination during the filling process.
  • Sterilization: The products being filled should be sterilized prior to filling to ensure that they are free from contaminants.
  • Quality control: Quality control measures should be in place to ensure that the products being filled meet all necessary quality and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Detailed documentation should be kept to track the filling process and ensure that it is being done correctly.

Excellent dosing accuracy, ease of operation and mitigating risk of cross-contamination make peristaltic pump ideal to be deployed in pharmaceutical production lines.  Example is shown in Figure 1 below.  If you are interested in building aseptic filling system,  please feel free to contact us at sales at auroraprosci dot com.
