Rock-on-a-Chip, also called Rock microfluidic Flow Cell, is designed to simulate complex porous structures on a chip that allows to characterize and visualize multi-phase transport through porous media at a given temperature and pressure. Also, it can be used to effectively investigate the flow property influenced by the channel geometry and surface of pores.
Key Features
- Excellent chemical compatibility
- Optical transparency for flow visualization
- Excellent chemical compatibility
- Complex pores, channels and flow networks can be mimicked
- Custom porous media structures are highly reproducible
- Maximum operating pressure up to 100 PSI
- Quick and easy to connect/disconnect
Typical Applications
- Flow simulation in complex porous rock at a given temperature and pressure
- Environmental testing, such as underground water pollutant transport research
- Oil and gas enhanced recovery study, such as replicating underground oil reservoirs in laboratory
