Flow cell is a glass device containing microfluidic channels, through which a stream of cells is aligned to pass one at a time through a light beam. It is the core part of many analytical and medical instruments, such as flow cytometer and spectrometer. The flow cell usually is optically polished and coated and interconnects with other complex fluidic systems to allow for imaging or signal interrogation.
