DT-1202 is an instrument designed for performing particle size distribution and zeta potential to characterize concentrated dispersions, emulsions and liquids. The measuring chamber of DT-1202 contains the both acoustic and
electro-acoustic sensors. As a result this instrument is capable of
measuring an attenuation spectra for for particle size as well as Colloid Vibration Current for zeta potential. Also, this instrument can perform acoustic and electro-acoustic measurements separately and independently.
Key Features
- Particle size distribution
- Zeta Potential and Iso-electric point
- Porosity and solids content
- Compressibility and bulk viscosity
- Non-aqueous conductivity and debye length
- Acoustic attenuation and sound speed
The DT-1202 can be supplemented with a set of Options which substantially extend this instrument's capabilities.

(1) Instrument can measure attenuation well above 50% vl, but verification of the theory for computing particle size and zeta potential is not possible above this limit.
(2) The “micro-viscosity” is important for theoretical calculation. It might be different than “macroscopic” viscosity for gels and other structured systems measured with conventional rheometers.
