The piezoelectric drop-on-demand (DOD) generator primarily consists of two components: one piezoelectric actuator and one silicon fluid chamber with uniform nozzles. When a voltage is applied, the piezoelectric actuator expands or contracts at a frequency of 250-300 kHz and squeezes droplets via nozzle arrays. The size and uniformity of droplets are mainly controlled by the driving frequency and signal amplitude, the liquid feeding pressure, the fluid properties (viscosity and surface tension etc) and the nozzle geometry.
